Bruenn is situated where the southern moravian plain passes into the central moravian hills, on foot of the Spielberg (right) and the Petersberg (center-left), at the junction of two rivers, the Schwarza and the Zwitta. The town is embedded into a lovely and fertile landscape, with gardens and fields in the south and woody hills in the north. At an altitude of 220 - 250 m the climate is mild and pleasant. During the time of the Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy (till 1918) Bruenn was a rich, prosperous town with wealth citizens.
